my children really enjoy this book. It is the adventures of 3 boys who get caught up in a mystery and history lesson all in one. The book is decidely British and was awarded the Carnegie Medal of the British Library Association for the outstanding book of the year. There are some great characters- a crusty old admiral and an eccentric old lady who is rescued in a blizzard add to the charm of this book.
