WOW! As usual this author just blows me away. I only understand about half of the technical stuff but the human interactions seem so honest and descriptions are so realistic I am on the edge of my seat nearly from the first page. Don't miss this one....it's a duzzy!
This is one of Tess Gerritsen's best books ever. As always, she really develops her characters; in this case, astronauts and others involved in NASA, the International Space Station, and the space program. When a scientific experimentin space goes terribly wrong, it is fascinating to learn how space and ground crews handle life and death situations while experiencing a myriad of human emotions. Into all of this is woven interesting facts about how it feels to blast off into space, and what it's like to live on the space station for an extended period.
This is her best one yet. A gripping story with characters that are real. Having worked in NASA for years I appreciate the research that was put into this story...it all sounds right on the money. Terrific book; I hated to get to the last page.
In Gravity, Tess Gerritsen departs somewhat from her usual medical thrillers to pen a medical thriller in space! Astronauts on a mission to the ISS (International Space Station)run into trouble when one of the biological experiments starts reproducing and killing people in the closed environment of the ISS. The characters are well drawn and we learn many details about life in space and rocket science. This novel is fast paced and suspenseful. It keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. There is also a glossary of NASA terms and acronyms at the end of the book which helps with the space jargon.
