They have guarded the faith in dangerous and troubled times.
Most of all, they help us to think about what it means to be a Christian. They call us to join in their company-the great communion of saints-and to witness to our faith. We may not be called to die in an arena as did Polycarp or to travel to distant parts of the world as did Laubach, but we are called to serve and love Jesus Christ wherever we are.« less
