It's kinda long, but well worth the viewing.

notice the packages being offloaded onto the belts and dropping off into boxes at the end of the sorting. Keep in mind that USPS has a 70 LB weight limit, so that package that just dropped on top of the other can be pretty heavy, Your packages MUST be able to survive that. If it can't, it needs to be packaged better. IT's not USPS's faulf when packages are damaged and the sender didn't package it well enough to survive the shipping process.

And UPS and FedEx do it exactly the same way.

Yeah Diane, and their weight limits are higher, so the boxes dropping on top of *yours* are heavier

 

*yours* is the generic term...I know no fellow postal worker would ship UPS/FedEX if they can help it. LOL!!!
