Delightful gardening ruminations of the author take the form of a glossary of gardening terms with interesting tidbits about whatever author Eleanor Perenyi wants to talks about. One finds Lawns, Naturalizing, and Woman's Place for instance, but not other common terms, like Fertilizers or Raised Beds. Not to despair though - the author has included an index. This is a lovely, and often practical, book to read by the fireside during the winter months when one can only dream about the garden.
If you like to read about gardens and gardening you will curl up with this book more than once. Perenyi was a writer and editor who also loved her gardens so when she retired she wrote about gardening.
