I just read the first one, Greywalker, and thought it was just OK. For those of you that are caught up with the series, does it get better? More intriguing? Less flat? Or should I just expect to not like the rest of them very much too?

I feel the same way Jennifer.  I really wanted to like this series because I like the premise so much.  However, I didn't rush to it every chance I had and sort of finished it just because I was hoping it would get better.  I have the next in the series but I'm not too keen on jumping into it unless someone lets me know it will get better!

Becky, hopefully someone can come along and let us know how the rest of the series evolves (or doesn't). Since I just bought the 3rd book in hardcover on bn.com because it was $5, I feel obligated to read at least the next 2 books just so I can feel like I didn't entirely waste $5. I learned a lesson in all of this: even if a premise sounds really fantastic, I should probably wait until I've read the first book before collecting future books in the series. This is definitely not a keeper for me, but if it improves somewhat, I might at least get future installments from the library when I can't think of what to read next.

Well, I didn't really enjoy them until book 3, Underground. I thought Greywalker was ok and had decided not to buy Poltergeist. Then I bought it in a moment of weakness and it was better, but still not great. I waited until mass market paperback to buy Underground.  I'm a fan of Quinton and book 3 is where we finally find out his back story. That's the reason I bought it. Because I liked that one, I've decided to go ahead and read Vanished but I won't buy it hardcover. I'll wait for mass market since my library doesn't seem to be getting them.

Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend them to a friend. However, Underground uses the real underground in Seattle as part of the location and I found that part really good. It made me want to go to Seattle and see the tour for myself. :)

That's good to know about Quinton! I'm a bit fascinated by him, and was thinking at first he would be her romantic interest, but then there was Will. I didn't really care for Will, and was happy with the end of the book. I'm hoping she doesn't mope about him in the second book. And I am glad to hear the third book is good. I might see the series through to the end if it gets more interesting, and make more of an effort than I indicated previously.

I had a moment of weakness tonight and bought a book that has been taunting me to buy it. After sticking to my guns and not buying it last night, I ended up back at the bookstore with one of my friends who works there. She let me use her employee discount to get the book, so I will not feel so bad if it ends up not being a keeper. The book is Confessions of a Demon by S.L. Wright.

I really like the series.  I'll admit that it took me a little while to get interested in the first one but I didn't have that problem with poltergist.  I also really enjoyed Underground as I am also a big fan of Quinton's.  I can't wait to read Vanished.  I think if you already bought them you should give the series a second chance you might change your mind.

I have  I think the first and then the third or fourth one, so i am waiting until I get the ones I'm missing in the middle before I start it.  I thought I would add this series to my new authors/ series challenge for the year.

The first one was just okay for me. The second was boring me, and I decided to give up midway through. I just figured I have way too many paranormal series in the TBR to read one that wasn't holding my attention.

Plus, I hated all the outdated technology in these books. All the characters are running around with pagers, no one has cell phones. Our main character prints with that old green-striped perferated paper....drove me nuts reading this stuff. I could understand if I'm reading a book published 10 or 15 years ago, but these books were published in the 21st century, get with the times already (or update it before publishing if you wrote it a decade ago)!!! A PI today without a cell phone? Highly doubtful...

It's been awhile since I've read them...but I  believe she had a pager b/c for some reasoon when she went into the 'grey' it caused her cell phone to go whacky... I even remember her being someone self depricating b/c she couldn't have a cell phone & it was discussed quite a bit in the books.  Can't comment on the paper..don't remember that.

I like them..they aren't your run of the mill paranormal..but I tend not to like the overly romancy stuff.
