This book was written more for the typical Southern Belle, rather than the barefoot, mud0ridin southern gal. Nice stories about the importance of passed-down cast iron skillets and that southern charm and drawl that my Northern boy has come to love! Deborah Ford puts words on paper in a unique way that every woman can use in everyday life.

I love this author. Being from the south myself (Houston Texas to be exact), all of the information, hints, and helpful advice Ford gives is like gold. I have 2 copies of this books, which is the only reason I am swapping it!

This is an amusing insight into what it's like to be a G.R.I.T.S. - Girl Raised in the South. It includes some recipes, some advice, and some anecdotes about this segment of the population.
