Would anyone be interested in having a group read every month?  I was thinking we could either rotate between a fiction, and a non-fiction each month, or have 2 books every month (one fiction and one non-fiction).  Or, if anyone is interested, would you prefer all fiction?  Thoughts?  Interest? :)

I'd love to read with you Brenda! I read far more fiction than non fiction, but either way would work for me!

Okay, so maybe we could just stick with fiction.  I like to read both, but fiction might be easier anyway.  Does anyone have any ideas of what you might like to read?  Maybe we could start with a group read in December, in which case we could possibly pick a Christmas themed one, or something.

I'll be thinking on it. Hopefully we can come up with a title or two in the next few days.

At Home for the Holidays by Meredith Efken looks really cute.  It looks like it's a sequel to SAHM I Am, which I read and really enjoyed a lot.  I don't know if you would have to read the first one to follow this one, though.

This link  has a bunch of Christmas novels listed, and there's a second page to it as well.

Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Decked Out, Yada Yada Series #7 Neta Jackson

This series has been one of my most favorites, and I highly reccommend it to anyone!

Reclaiming Nick by Susan May Warren looks good. No series yet.

My church group is reading The Christmas Bus by Melody Carlson for December. She has a new one out this year that's also pretty good called An Irish Christmas.

I also forgot to mention that Robin Jones Gunn has a new Christmas book out--Finding Father Christmas.

I love this idea!  I have been active in a monthly book club that meets on the last Wednesday of the month but starting in January I am going back to school and I'll have classes on Wednesday nights.  I love the idea of a on-line book club, especially a Christian one! Just let me know the book!

So, for those interested, do we want to vote on what book to read?  Or are there any books mentioned that you don't care to read?

A holiday themed book sounds good to me.

I'd also be interested in joining.   Anything the group decides.  I've enjoyed anything I've read by the Thoenes.

Me too. As long as my library has it...I'm good. The Melody Carlson one sounded good. I like her.

Okay, these are the suggestions we've had.  If everyone who wants to participate could list their top two choices, then we can come up with a consensus (hopefully), and then we can all start finding the book.

At Home for the Holidays by Meredith Efken

Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Decked Out, Yada Yada Series #7 Neta Jackson

Reclaiming Nick by Susan May Warren

The Christmas Bus by Melody Carlson

Finding Father Christmas by Robin Jones Gunn

I'd be interested in joining in on a group reading. I am definitely more into fiction.. No suggestions though.

I'm up for any of them. My only concern is that it not be so new that I can't get it through the library. We have an extremely active Christian membership in our local library system and I often end up with a hold on the book for a month or more.

Would you all like to read The Christmas Bus for our group read, then?  We didn't get a whole lot of votes, except it seems like the general thought for many is to have it not be a brand new book, so it's available at the library.  The Christmas Bus is a year old, so is that old enough for those who have a hard time getting library books?

I'll be reading @Home for the Holidays (Life, Faith & Getting It Right #16) (Steeple Hill Cafe) by Meredith Efken as well in December, just for my personal reading, so if anyone wants to join me on that as well, you're welcome!
