the sequel to The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, age 13 3/4. "Everything he says is funny, but it's the kid's deadly seriousness about the agonies of growing up that makes suffering along with him such a pleasure."--Chicago Tribune.
Adrian Mole, British teenager, has been compared to Holden Caulfield , Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, and Woody Allen.

A masterpiece of comic irony.

This is the first two books of the Adrian Mole series in one volume. A tongue in cheek diary of a British school boy growing up in the 1970s and 80s. At times rather precious and obvious, this also has some funny moments. Light, easy reading.

classic coming-of-age story - typical angst, concerns with family and friends - told with humor and realism in the format of a journal.
Great read for adults as well as young adults!

Hmmm, Harry Potter meets Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and this was written before both of them. I may want to give it to a 14 year old ex-student, but it's just a little too adultish for my puritan tastes (a couple of paternity suits going on in the background).

This book wasn't at all what I had expected. After reading so many reviews about how hilariously funny it was, I found it to be a total let-down.

I chuckled over a few parts, but more often than not I was stuck on the British mannerisms and references to things of which I had no idea what the characters were talking about. I gave up after the fifth chapter.

Maybe others will find it a lot more humorous and easier to read than I did!
