I just read a review of a movie version  of one of my favorite books, Then She Found Me by Eilnor Lipman. It has a lovely, delicate romance going on in it and it sounds like the moviemakers have utterly trashed it.  Sigh.

And this surprised you why?  It happens far too often.

Oh I cringed when I saw Bridges of Madison County.  That was the best book I've ever read and I cried at how horrible the movie was.  The people in the theater thought I was crying because the movie was sad.......nope.

I had read that about Bridges which is why I stuck with the book. I don't think I have ever cried so much reading a book before. lol My husband (at the time) thought I was going crazy! :D

I was thinking about doing that the other day too. I had borrowed the book from my mom but saw it at the UBS the other day. lol Not that I need another book but that was an amazing one.

I think anytime they try to "do" a movie from a great book they are going to mess it up.  I shudder to think what they will do if they ever try to make Outlander.

Outlander would make an awesome movie, IF they leave it as it is!

I read Along Came a Spider by James Patterson, and saw the movie and was really angry how they took his book apart and just kept little pieces of it!

I only watched 2 of the Nora Roberts movies and I wasn't happy with the job they did, so I didn't watch the others, even though I had recorded them.

I couldn't believe they used Morgan Freeman for Cross in those Patterson movies. I like Morgan Freeman but he isn't really a hunky black man which is how Cross, in the books, comes across to me.

It didn't surprise me, it just pissed me off!

I actually always wonder why people WANT to have movies made of their favorite books. I wouldn't see the movie of I Capture the Castle even if it would help the space program.  I had to leave the room while my husband was watching Lord of the Rings. I know what they look like and sound like, damnit, I don't need it ruined!
