intruder in the waste....the waste was stirring and strange forms of the Dark, long quiet, began to wake as Kerovan-whose cloven hoofs marked his kinship with the Old Ones- journeyed into the Waste on a secred mission. he and Joisan worked to unlock the power of the crystal gryphon to defeat the powers of evil. i enjoy ALL of andre norton's creations.

Interesting protagonist with cloven hooves but in many ways it's a typical Andre Norton mystical adventure, I didn't find it especially compelling.

A thoroughly enjoyable read. Andre Norton truly was the Grand Dame of sci fi fantasy.
