I had a wish granted. It's for a book I really want and haven't found. I believe it to be out of print. I accepted and then get a PM saying the book is a discard with slight damage. I asked what slight damage was and she hasn't answered yet. Should I accept it? I don't know if I should, I don't think damaged should be posted but otoh this has been such a hard find for me.

She did answer, it's an ex library book and the plastic cover is slightly scraped.

Plastic cover, depending on how it's attached can be removed. If the book below the cover is damaged then she'd be wrong to post it.

If that is the damage, it sounds postable to me. Some members don't like ex-library books but they are allowed on the site. Only you can decide if it's worth a credit to you, but with credits selling in the Book Bazaar right now for less than $2, unless you think you are going to find a better condition copy cheaper somewhere else, I would go for it.

I'm taking it. I don't want to lose this chance and it is nice of her to tell me about it.

I agree, since library books are allowed as long as they meet standard conditions, a 'scraped' mylar cover isn't going to affect 'readability'.  Many of my wishlisted books are long, long out of print and I'm willing to accept them in almost any condition as long as I can read them...

That's what I thought too after she answered me. I wasn't sure what slightly damaged on the top meant but she said a scraped plastic cover..okay by me!!! I was thinking damage where I would have a hard time reading it.
