I always like the lone-wolf hero who is matched to a woman who is just plain nice. Phoebe is the woman in her family who has a nice sensible head on her shoulders and Gus is, in many ways, an alien to her. I liked the build-up to a relationship in this book. I liked both chharacters. It isn't the kind of romance that blows your mind with sex, but it is a nice quiet romance that feels likely. I enjoyed it...

Mr. Gus Galanos sure wasn't the friendly type. From the moment the stone-faced, sexy guest slammed into Phoebe Shaw's bed and breakfast, he hadn't smiled, said two words or taken one bite of her country cooking. One thing the very secretive Mr. Galanos did do was look at Phoebe, long and hard-with hunger in those dark eyes...
Gus had been ordered to unwind at Phoebe's old house in the boondocks, but an antiterrorist agent wasn't supposed to take naps and sample homemade biscuits! Nor was he supposed to ache with the need to sample the sensual pleasures of a nice lady with kissable, pink lips and a heart as big as North Carolina. A heart a man like him could never have.
