I'm hoping someone can help me out.  I know someone who is wondering if Mercedes Lackey's Five Hundred Kingdom's series (the first one is The Fairy Godmother) would be appropriate for her young teenage daughter.  Unfortunately I haven't read them, so I had to tell her I had no idea.

Can anyone tell me what age you would recommend these books for?  She is most worried about the romance aspect (violence/language isn't really a problem) since this series published by an adult "romance" imprint.  Obviously she doesn't want something that gets "steamy".

Any help you can give is sooooo appreciated!

They are really enjoyable, I wouldn't call them steamy, and I don't remember bad language.

Read The Fairy Godmother and liked it a good deal.  Gave that one to my daughter who collects Mercedes Lackey novels.

I would think it would be suitable for a teen. I let my 14yo niece read my copy when it first came out.  I dont remember any bad words or sex scenes.
