It was a HQN or Silhouette series book. I think HQN. About a woman living in the mountains. She was raped or sexually abused. Seems like the man goes to check on her is a cop or something. Can't remember much about it except that she keeps to herself. Seems like there is a part about her dancing naked in the moonlight or something. Seems like the woman has long black hair.

If you know what this book is called, please let me know. I would love to read it again.

Glad it's been found.  To me it was sounding like this one http://www.paperbackswap.com/Dangerous-Stranger-Silhouette-Naomi-Horton/book/0373074255/

There's not a description of it that I can see online but the heroine was raped and no one believed her.  She's gone to the wilds of British Colombia to escape and do her research.  The guy that raped her has killed himself and his brother goes looking for the heroine because, of course, he blames her for ruining his brother's life.  Since it's an Intimate Moments, there's a mystery/element of danger too.  Of course, the H realizes the h was telling the truth and saves her and they end up together.

That's always one book that's stuck with me, excellent story.
