Haffertee is a soft-toy hamster. Ma Diamond made him for her little girl, Yolanda ( Diamond Yo), when her real pet hamster died.

In this book- the second in the series- Haffertee meets old friends and makes new ones as he explores Hillside-House. In the process, he learns a good deal about himself, and grows up enough to be given a place of his own.

The charm of the stories lies in the funny, lovable character of Haffertee himself, and in the special place God has in the affections of Diamond Yo and her family.
