Questions about PaperBackSwap
Topic: Has this happened to anyone else?

In the last couple of days, I've rec'd two requests for books that are _not_ on my bookshelf. I'm thinking this must be due to some sort of glitch, but is it only happening to me? It makes me wonder if requests that I've made are also going haywire. Carol Ann |

yes, there must be a glitch in the system. I have gotten a couple of live help issues from this. |

OK, thanks Paige! I asked about it in the help center and then went ahead and canceled the requests. When the system asked why, I said it was because the books weren't on my bookshelf. It's kinda a weird glitch - hope they get it figured out. Carol Ann |

How strange. I got a request last week for a book that I did not have on my bookshelf either. I searched and searched throughout all my books thinking it really was a book I posted and just forgot and now misplaced. I cancelled the order saying the book was not on my shelf, which it wasn't, but in actuality it wasn't even my book to begin with. Only happened once in all the time I've been a member so I just took the blame not even thinking it could be a glitch in the system. |

I received a request today dated 9/3/07 that was mailed out 2 months ago!

Finally heard back from one of the librarians, and was told that it had to have been user error. Um, nope, I don't think so! One of the books used to be on my bookshelf at one time, but definitely wasn't at the time it was requested, and the other book had _never_ been on my bookshelf, I had never read it, I hadn't ever requested it from anyone, and I certainly didn't post it on my bookshelf. I hope they can get to the bottom of whatever gremlins are causing these strange goings on! Freaky, for sure. Carol Ann

The gremlins are still active. I just clicked on a book under "En Route To Me" to mark it received, and the book that showed on the problem/no problem screen was totally different from anything I'd ever ordered, received, or even listed. There wasn't any option to cancel, so I clicked on the "my account" tab and tried again, and it worked fine the second time.
