Giesela P. reviewed Happy Birthday, Felicity! A Springtime Story, 1774 (The American Girls Collection, Book 4) on
Great story. This is a wonderful story about a young girl in colonial times written for young girls. My 8 year old daughter loved this story as well as the entire Felicity series and the other American Girl books.
Beautiful book.Felicity's grandpa comes for her 10th birthday and Grandpa brings her Grandma's guitar. She is told not to take her guitar out of the house but she disobeys. She hears a message that the colonists are about to be attacked. Because of her disobedience her family does not believe her and she risks more anger from them by delivering the message herself. This is a great lesson in obedience, honesty and truthfulness at the time of the American Revolution, about 1776.
