Part of a great reading series featuring Inspector Porfiry Rostnikov, from the Moscow police. Tight plot, bits of Russian history and a good grasp on the Russian life before the changes in Russia.

I prefer having Rostnikov in Russia. His team doesn't work as well without him there. It was distressing and distracting to have three cases, totally disconnected and the players disconnected. You begin to feel sorry for the two left in Russia and what in the world is Rostnikov doing in CUBA?
