This is one of the best stories I have read in Lee Child's series featuring Jack Reacher. The writing is tight and within a couple of pages it has you hooked. You feel like you are on a wild ride with a guy that doesn't miss a thing. I was immediately caught up in this mystery and enjoyed the fact that when I read it, everything that happened seem logical and not forced to make the story work. The characters were fully developed and the plot was fascinating. Not just a "who dunnit?", but also, why and how. I would have liked the bad guys to suffer more (an indication that Lee Child really had me invested in the story). This was one of those books where I started getting anxious as I realized that I was reaching the end. I was definitely caught up in the tension in the story, but my real anxiety came from knowing that I only had pages left of "The Hard Way".

This is the first book I've read by Lee Childs. Although it is not my usual reading material, I had a hard time putting it down once I started. It didn't matter that I was unfamiiar with the main character, Reacher. A pageturner if ever there was one.
Jack Reacher, retired MP, is hired by a man who will pay him a million dollars to get his wife back. This book has lots of twists and turns and will keep you wanting to read one more chapter. I really enjoyed this book but there again I enjoy all the Jack Reacher books.
Jack Reacher is my personal hero. He is so straight forward and only deals with the facts. I love how he goes around the country dealing with real people and puts paid to the debts they owe society.
Reacher seems very real, solid. Like the way it would feel to bump into him in an alley somewhere. He has mass. Most characters in books are either squeaky clean (too good to be true) or they have obvious tics made up to make them look real. Reacher is the real deal. No excuses.
