a series kinda switches genres.... the next KGI book by Maya Banks features a telepath...and it is really annoying me lol the other books are not at all paranormal, so why is this one? ugh

yes - I thought Lynsay SAnds' switched generes with the vampire books when they got a bit darker for about 3 books - I like the light and fluffy same 'ol same 'ol not the darker stuff! I know a lot were mad when Lori Foster did her fighters with the futuristic book thrown in - would't ticked me off too if I'd been reading the series.

Lori Foster did that with her fighter series with My Man Michael.  It was stupid.

Yes, since Lori Foster did that it's made it so I haven't even picked up her new series.   Nora Roberts did that years ago in her Born In Series.  Books One and Two were nice romantic stories set in Ireland.  Then, in the third one, she introduced psychic dreams, ghosts, etc.

I wonder how much is down to the authors and how much is down to the publishers saying "paranormal is in and is a big seller, make your next book paranormal" and the author has no choice.

It's the 4th one coming out in January. It feels, I dunno, like a cop out. I really like this series and I was waiting for this brothers book...now I am disappointed.

Yeah, I love me a good paranormal but not when one is thrown into the mix "just because".

Ani I think the first Born in book, fire, had a little bit of paranormal in it but the last one definitely had a LOT - in fact I never did quite  understand that stuff near the end of that one but it's still one of my favorites of hers - I like Murphy! The 2nd one is a favorite too. she puts a lot of that stuff in her romances - I think the bridal quartet is the only one that didn't have it and some of her earlier silhouettes/harlequins.

I actually liked My Man, Michael but then I liked some of that series but not all of it, read it out of order, and Lori Foster isn't my favorite anyway. If I'm less "committed" to an author, I'm more flexible on what I think they should be writing lol.

I love the KGI series so I will probably still read it.

Cherry Adair did the same thing with the TFlac series.

I'm sure authors are getting pressure to do more paranormals or at  least some paranormal aspect.  Because it is so popular.

I'll still read it, prob since I will get it to review since I did the others, but I hope it turns out ok. Here is the blurb...

She came to him when he needed her the most

She came to him at his lowest point. The voice of an angel, a whisper in the dark. She’s the only thing that gets Nathan Kelly through his captivity, the endless days of torture and the fear that he’ll never return to his family. With her help, he’s able to escape. But he isn’t truly free, because now she’s disappeared and he’s left with an all-consuming emptiness as he struggles to pick up the pieces of his life. Did he imagine his angel? Or is she out there, needing his help as he’d once needed hers?

Now he rushes to save her before it’s too late

Shea has been on the run from people who will stop at nothing to exploit her unique abilities. She never wanted to drag Nathan, who’d already suffered so much, into danger, but she doesn’t have a choice so she reaches out to him for help. Finally face-to-face after having already formed a soul-deep bond in hell, their emotional connection is even more powerful than their telepathic one. Nathan refuses to consider ever letting her go again, but she worries they can never have a life free of the dangers that dog her every step. He’ll protect her with his every breath, but can he convince her that they are meant to face these threats together?

Same here, I love paranormal, it's probably 90% of what I read, so when I read outside of it, I want those to stay outside of it lol
