Hi Everyone,

First let me say I am new here and still learning the the details of how things work.

I have a problem with a member that I mailed a book to.  She had the wrong mailing address in computer so it took longer for it to get to her than normal, being forwarded to the new address by the PO.  This caused the book to be marked lost.  I did PM the member trying to keep in touch with what was happening.  Her replies were always delayed but she did tell me that she did recieve the book.  I asked her to please mark it recieved so I could recieve my credit for it and she said she did.

If she did, why didn't I get the usual email telling me my credit was recieved and why is the book still listed as lost?  I ordered a few books and mailed some out at the same time this took place and by my calculations, there has not been a credit added to my account for this transaction.

Is this lady playing games with me are does the book stay marked "lost" on my list?  I did PM PBS and I got a reply saying it could be up to 48 hours for an answer and it's been a week with nothing....

Should I just drop it and move on???

B

Did you use PBS DC on the book? If so then you got the credit when the book was scanned by the PO.  You can look in your credit registry and your transaction archive to see if the credit is there.  Look the book up in your transaction archive-it should say if it was finally marked received.  If you received the credit it'll be in your credit registry although I think that only goes back 2 months but I'm not sure.  The Transaction Archive shoes all your transactions.

Thanks!!   I just checked.   No credit for the book!   :0/

I didn't use the DC,  I guess this is a lesson learned!

Becki, if the book you sent went lost, then the system automatically put in another order for the next book in the FIFO line for the requestor.  She probably received the second book, and that is the one that she marked received.  If yours ever does turn up, she will be able to mark it received in her transaction archive.

It is my book because it was the one forwarded to her with my return address.  She did tell me it was my book.  Plus this was a book that is in high demand.  At the time a few hundred were waiting for it so the chances are very slim that it was someone elses book she got.

In that case, then it's possible that she marked the wrong book received.  For yours, if it had gone lost, she would have had go to into her transaction archive and mark it received- it would not be on the "books mailed to you" tab.  You might want to PM her and ask if she marked it received from the transaction archive, or from the "books mailed to you" tab- if she marked the wrong one received, then I think she will need to contact PBS to correct the error.

The system doesn't automatically reorder a book that went Lost.  If it's a book that's available in the system then it goes on your reminder list.  The help docs suggest waiting at least 2 wks before reordering the book.  IF it's a WL book you go back on the WL in the position you were in when the book was offered to you.

And Becki,

Check on your Club Communications link on your main account page to see if the Team sent you a second email and it got caught in a spam blocker. They may have already sent you an email, but you may not have seen it.
