I have begun writing out the challenge for 2011!  I am shooting for 12 categories and 2 bonuses andI have completed 8 categories and two bonuses.  If you have any suggestions for categories, please PM me with them!  I can't promise to use all the suggestions but they will certainly help me as I try to come up with a challenge that will keep us all happy and entertained!  I probably won't respond to suggestions posted here or sent to me because I don't want to tip my hand but rest assured that I will read everything and take it all into account! :)

I am well pleased with my work so far.  I think that you will all find something that will stretch you a little and plenty that will make you happy that you love this genre.

I think I sent you one that was to read an award winner, Agatha, Edgar etc. Anohter one I though of is to read a mystery not set in this country. Looking forward to see you categories.

I like Alice's suggestion. My favs, at this time, are the foreign authors.

I know you will do a great job. These challenges have expanded my reading, so I am ready for the next challenge!!

Thanks in advance,

Mary

Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!  I received many suggestions and many of them were very similar and right in step with my own ideas so that made my job easier. If we aren't all on exactly the same page, I think we're in the same chapter. :)  I think that I am within striking distance of a challenge that will keep us all busy and happy.  Now, you can all just sit back and wait until December 1st!

This year, I think I would prefer to have all discussions regarding the challenge remain on the challenge thread rather than having thirteen or fourteen different threads.  I think that having one place for all of us to comment and collect ideas is easier and it is also easier to keep one thread on the front page than it is to keep several.  Is everyone okay with that?

Obviously, there will be a dedicated thread for our lists as well.  Just cut and paste the challenge as we did this year and last.

I'm pretty excited about this challenge.  Can you tell?? smiley

I agree with this, I always comment more if there aren't so many different threads to keep track of.

I already have cleared off a shelf to hold my challenge books and have left plenty of room for the mystery books!
