I discovered Louise Hay and this book over 20 years ago and I still use it constantly. In my opinion this is THE best self help book ever written. Especially helpful for those of us with chronic medical problems. Louise Hay and her Science of the Mind teachings and exercises will help you open up your thinking and look at life from a different perspective.
I've given many copies of this book as gifts over the years and always keep my copy close at hand and after 20+ years still refer to it almost weekly.
You can't get a better self help book then this one in my opinion.
"If we are all willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed." Louise Hay Includes how she healed herself after being diagnosed as being terminally ill with cancer. Her students are able to clear away the blocks that keep them from robust health and from having what they want in life.
Written in a very young, basic voice, but with the profound insight of simplicity. This book has power and it puts it in your hands to redirect your thoughts and attitudes, thereby healing yourself. A very easy, powerful read when taken to heart.
I felt that this was a much more practical guide than many of the similar books I have read. There were MANY exercises, all of which can be started on as you are reading Hay's text. I felt that ch. 15, on spiritual causes for illness was, well.... a bit disturbing... but the rest of the book is very worth reading.
My sister used this book for a college class, and consequently we may have missed erasing a pencil mark or two; also her name is on the inside cover. She said this was the best book she ever read to help her (she is handicapped) to get herself and her mind on the same track and know where she was going. She found this book in her closet, and thought it might help someone else out there on PBS.
