In HEALTH AND THE PLANETS, Ian Watson discusses the fact that every organ of the body has a rhythm just as the planets have a rhythm. For an organism to be in tune with the cosmos will depend on it being in its natural environment. When the same organism is taken out of his natural environment, it will experience as period of disynchronization and will be out of harmony with the universe which will often result in sickness, and in extreme cases, even death.
This study of the planets gives us an insight into aspects of ourselves which are aligned or mis-aligned. This study allows us to stay within our current environment and decide what we need to bring in to ourselves and what things we need to let go of to improve our health and wellness.
One of our constitutional planets is determined by the day of the week of which we were born. This study is also about the alignment of the planets on the day a person is born, not the position of the planets at that time. Ian discusses how the planetary clock is much like the Traditional Chinese medical clock, in that every organ has a peak time and a down time, just as every planet has a peak time of influence on us.
