I cheated. This is only the second full length book I have read by Day. The first being the first book of this series. Most likely this is the last book of the series.

First of all, Quinn is not my favorite character. In the first book she was like the little sister with too much bravado to be endearing, more annoying. Yeah, yeah, I get that you are a tough chick. Shut up already. She has a little bit of that here but it's toned down and she becomes more of a real character then a caricature. Still not my favorite but a definite improvement.

Alaric has always intrigued me so I loved reading about him. I loved that the book wasn't filled with "I'm not good enough for this person so I can't be with her/him." It could have gone that way but it was more like "I'm not good for him/her but I am going to be selfish." The moments between Alaric and Quinn were filled with sharing and fun.

It's a very action pack book and was a good read.

We finally get the story of Alaric and Quinn. Definitely worth the wait, but accompanied by sadness that this is the book that ties up the series.
Quinn is the sister of the fututure Queen of Atlantis. Alaric is the High Priest of Atlantis and sworn to celibacy.
They met when Alaric healed a nearly dead Quinn. They shared an experience so emotional that they have tried to resist for years.
Loose ends are tied up satisfactorily. Very good series.
