Search - Heart Trouble (Callahan Garrity, Bk 5)

If you are a fan of Kinsey Milhone (the 'Alphabet' books by Sue Grafton), you'll probably enjoy Trocheck's books starring ex-cop Callahan Garrity.

Callahan is not as much of a loner as Kinsey, but still manages to get herself in some interesting situations involving crime and dead bodies. The ladies that Callahan employs in her cleaning service are an eclectic and often funny crew (and often get involved in solving a case).

This series is set in contemporary times (not the 1980s as with Grafton's books), so there's a bit more mention of cell phones, computers, and such... but Callahan mostly depends on legwork and her brains, not technology.

Recommended for lovers of crime/detective fiction, but NOT if you only like hard-boiled, cynical cops like Dirty Harry. If you like a few laughs with your detectives, you'll enjoy Heart Trouble.

Callahan Garrity has her hands full trying to expand her House Mouse cleaning business.
