This is a quick read of light and funny stories with great history as well. The historical aspect of World War 2 is very interesting and, unfortuneatly, believable. The 3 stories are intertwined by the 3 grandmothers and 3 granddaughters, making it fun to go from one story to the next.

The power of love -- past, present, and future -- takes center stage in this collection of three original stories by beloved romance authors Debbie Macomber, Katherine Stone, and Lois Faye Dyer.

Always, it's the grandmothers who know best, as their granddaughters turn to them for advice about love in time of war. In Debbie Macomber's "5-B Poppy Lane" (set in Cedar Cove, of course), Ruth Shelton is very much against the war in Iraq and very much for Paul Gordon, a soldier stationed in Iraq whom she first meets on the Internet. In Katherine Stone's "The Apple Orchard," Elizabeth returns to her grandmother's farm to find affirmation in her choice of fiancé but instead finds a childhood friend who now has a lot more in mind. In Lois Faye Dyer's "Liberty Hall," cautious English professor Chloe Abbott turns to her grandmother's experience as a WWII code breaker and to former Marine Jake Morrissey for protection when she discovers she's being stalked.
