Margit Roelli conjures up Heidi's innocent world with 16 full-page, coloured pictures and 16 black and white illustrations. The artist, who lives in Zurich, has illustrated more than a dozen shildren's books including "Pinggi", the story of a white penguin, and "Asino", the story of a little donkey. She is very close to Hirzel and its classic Johanna Spyri scenery, also through he late husband, the unforgettable songwriter and singer, Hans Roelli (1889-1962).
Jurg Winkler has lives and worked in Hirzel since 1951. The former teacher looks after the Johanna Spyri Museum, founded in 1981. As author of the empatheticaly written Johanna Spyri biography (Albert Muller Publishers 1986) and as an outstanding specialist on the life and writings of the famous Swiss author, he summarizes the Heidi story in warm and clear language.
