Hello. I'm having trouble with a Box-o-books transaction. We both accepted a trade of one book each on 8/23 and I mailed mine on 8/27. She hasn't mailed her book yet or marked mine as received. I've e-mailed her twice and received no response. What can I do?

I had a similar problem that I was never able to resolve.  After mailing the two books wit DC to my fellow BOB swapper on June 24, 2007, PMing her a few times and waiting many weeks, she became "no longer a member".  As a last resort, I reprinted the label and sent her a snail mail letter asking her to please send the two books she owed me for the two I sent her.  The letter apparently arrived because it was not returned to me....but I still have not received the books, nor can I get rid of the "Pending BOB" on my account.

I hope you fare better than I did.

I've had quite a few BOB swaps....they have all gone perfectly except this one,  So I am still a BOB fan.

Thanks. This is the first real problem I've ever had on PBS. I think there must be something I can do, i just don't know what.

I would PM R&R to see if that member is still a member or not. If she still is, maybe a note from those guys might prod her to mail out your books.

R&R is short for Richard and Robert. They are the site's owners. You reach them by sending a feedback, not a PM. Click on Help Center in the gray menu bar up top, then click on Contact the PBS Team and fill out the form.

If you ask for help with something like this, there really isn't much they can do. They can't force a person to give you the books she promised. They can email her to try and get her to do the right thing and they can close her account if she won't do it, and that's about it. You still suffer the loss.

However, you definitely should ask for help in order to protect the club overall. If a person is not following through on her BoB with you, what's to prevent her from failing to follow through on 10 or 20 others? Somebody has to be the first to say "hey, this person is a bad swapper" or she'll keep "swap-lifting" forever. And there's also the more innocent possibility -- maybe she was in some kind of accident or came down with some kind of illness (or worse) and just hasn't been online at all.

How do you know it is a case of they dinn't send your bookS?  They could have been lost in the mail, couldn't they?  I have 4 BOBS that they got their books and I didn't.  You can't say they all didn't send the books......!!

Ok Cathy, thanks.I'll do that. I've been trying to be patient. i know things happen in our lives.

Sue, she didn't mark it mailed, or my book recieved. I just want to know what happened, not get anyone in trouble. Plus, I really want the book she was sending me, and I don't know if I should get it from someone else.
