Quick question.  I recently posted a book that required me to enter its information (title, author, publisher, dimensions, etc.).  I have an image of the cover on my computer (downloaded from the author's website), and tried to post it with the book, but it didn't work.  What am I doing wrong?  Computer gurus, please help! :)

Lisa the only way a book image is accepted is if you use "Upload Book Covers". The cover will not load if it is entered with the data. Also, they appear to be behind in approving book covers.

I also have a question about the uploading.... i've uploaded a couple of pics, reveiwed the size limits and rules for uploading and made sure everything was good..... but after upload, it says it will be reveiwed and it's been weeks and the cover still hasn't been put up..... if the cover didn't meet criteria, wouldn't someone notify me that it wasn't good enough? or does it just take that long to get a picture into the system?

Elizabeth the volunteers that do that are swamped right now. Its of their own doing bc they asked that everyone try to do as much as they can but they have a lot of not only book cover images but book data edits to wade through.

One problem though may be that you are using the wrong upload thingy (technical term) If your doing it in the edit book data entries then it will never go through. You have to use the Upload Book Covers option right next to the edit option.

Why in heaven's name???? is there a field in Edit Book Data for the image if "it never works"????

Is this really correct?  Because I find it pretty amazing if it is.

Marjorie, yes, it's really correct. Robert has just never gotten it to work, nor removed it. That's all I know.

Chris, actually the reason for the backlog was not our doing, it was because they shut off the approvals for 8 days. They did some upgrading or something, right after we started asking people to help on them.

BUT the big thing is there is no longer a backlog. The queue was cleared on Friday afternoon.

That means, Elizabeth, if you uploaded weeks ago, your image is lost. Should you have received a note on it, yes. I always do, but not everybody does. Hopefully, you still have the images and can try again, I know we did lose a bunch of images about 3-4 wks ago when they had a problem, which led up to this last upgrade on the image uploads & approvals.
