I bought some books maybe 5 years ago at books a million.  They were almost like paranormal/historical romance.  I can't remember the names of the books or the author.  Maybe someone here can help .  They were good books and i'd like to find more by the author. They were set back in the 1800's, and it is about a woman and her boyfriend who are ghost hunters.  The boyfriend is always working on his inventions that will catch ecto plasm etc.  One story was of a residual haunting that the woman saw play over and over at the same time each night.  I feel like the author was a woman.  If anyone has read these please let me know.  thanks!

Those were the ones that sprang to my mind too, but they're too recent!  Darn, can't think of any others right now either....

It might be some of the Amanda Quick "Arcane Society" novels.  That's Jayne Castle's (Jayne Ann Krentz) historical novels.

How about Linda Fallon??  She has "Shades of Midnight", "Shades of Winter", and "Shades of Scarlet".  The main characters are Eve Abernathy and Lucien Thorpe and are set in the late 1800's.
