I thought there used to be mention in the posting guidelines about a page being torn or a small piece being cut from a page (some used bookstores do this I think).  One of the books I was trying to post tonight has the top 1/2" x 3" corner snipped off from the title page. I think this was done to remove the prior owner's info as I received several snipped this way from a friend.   I am just trying to see if this is postable but couldn't find a reference to cut/torn pages in the help docs.

here are the guidelines  Help docs - http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/help_item.php?id=205

sorry posted for cover.  I think that is what many consider a gray area.  I know the threads you are referring - I will see if I can find them - I can't remember exactly - but I think many don't think that the title page is a text page.  So writing is ok on it.

My library cuts out their bar code when they withdraw the books from circulation. I feel they are postable because the barcodes were on non-text pages.

some used book stores cut out a small part of the cover; if the amount missing is less than 1 square inch, this is OKAY

The above is from the Help Center under what can be posted here.

I know that in the help docs it says a 1 inch square on the cover is ok because UBS will mark books in this fashion  and many members say that missing fly leafs are ok.  Anyway here you go.
