I don't remember the title of this book that I'm looking for. It's got a brightly colored cover. It's about a duck who doesn't want to fly south for the winter. So his mom and siblings leave with out him. He puts on floaties and swims. He won't go south until it starts to snow. When it starts to snow he's cold so he flaps his wings to keep warm and starts to fly by accident. I just remember him saying "i'm c-c-c-c-cold" then he flaps to stay warm and says "i'm f-f-f-flying". I'm trying to get this book for my little 2 yr old niece and i can't think of it.
thanks in advance for your help

Was it maybe one of the books by Jane Simmons? She writes about a little duck named Daisy.

No this was a boy duck. I can't remeber his name. I've been looking for this book for a couple of years now and it's making me crazy LOL.

I know the crazy feeling! I recently was searching for a childhood book and the local librarian found it for me, with nothing but the story line description. Have you tried the bookslueth forum on abebooks.com? |

No I use abebooks but hadn't known about a booksleuth forum. I'll go check that out. Thanks! |

Michelle, if ABE doesn't work out, you might check out Loganberry books. There's a stump the bookseller section and they specialize in children's books. Every now and then I'm amazed by the vagueness of the clues on the ones that they solve! It costs 2 bucks, though, so try ABE first. :-) http://logan.com/loganberry/stump.html |

Howard by James Stevenson is about a Duck who misses migration and spends the winter in New York City...Not sure if this sounds like the one you're looking for. It was first published in 1980. |
