I am looking for what I call Historical Romantic Suspense set in Europe, aka Gothic Romance. My fav authors are Victoria Holt and her pseudonyms, Madeline Brent "yes I know she was a he"

Dorothy Eden, Bertrice Small the Skye O'Malley series. So if you gals can help me out and find me some more authors like these I would really appreciate it.I just love these sort of books.

Thanks for your help

Eve Silver does wonderful gothic romance - my favorite is To Seduce a Stranger. Robin Schones' The Lover and Gabriel's Woman are both gothic romances imo - very creepy, steamy and good!

Back when I used to read Victoria Holt/Dorothy Eden/Phyllis Whitney I also used to read Mary Stewart and Virginia Coffman -- some from the 70's aren't even in this database but I remember liking her - and I know a couple were gothic -- One I recently lost due to water damage - The Master of Blue Mire - I had kept since I was pretty young. Also read Rosalind Laker though I don't think she was gothic. Janet Louise Roberts had a few that were gothic type --- back in the day she was racy though by today's standards pretty tame.

Eve Silver is a new to me author and I've liked all of the books I've read by her.  I wouldn't exactly call them "steamy", but the romances are great & they definitely have a "gothic" feel to them.
