I was asked this morning to see if I could find a book geared towards women.  It needs to talk about finding your way back to God in troubling/difficult times.  Along those lines anyway.  I think the min of music (who is like an assoc pastor) is counseling with someone and he would like to get a book for them.

If you have any suggestions, please pass them on.  Thanks.

STORM FRONT by Wilma Wall was a good book. It was about an abused wife and mother who pretty much had a life controlled by her husband. She was called for jury duty on a murder trial and made a few friends who helped her to change her life and showed her kindness and the God she had long forgotten.

If he is looking for NF, Hidden Joy by Wendy Blight is awesome.

I think he is looking for NF from how he discussed it with me.

Thanks Christa.  I'll check that one out.

Thanks for your suggestion also Diane.

It depends on what kind of difficulty the individuals are experiencing.  Are there particular challengs these individuals are facing?

For a general recommendation, I'd go with Keeping a Princess Heart...in a not so fairytale world.

If somebody is going through a grieving process, I would highly recommend A Grief Observed.  While it's not aimed toward women specifically, it is an excellent insight into C.S. Lewis's own struggle with grief and the Divine.

Thanks Jennifer.

He didn't mention particulars, maybe because he was afraid that I might figure out who he was talking about.  I'll pass those along too.

Oh that was an EXCELLENT book!  I personally think every woman should read that one.  I got copies for my mom and sisters one year for Christmas.  I also plan to have my daughter read it during her teen years.
