OK, my mind is blank. What's the series & author of the books about the woman (named Annie something) who owns a bookstore and solves murders? She gets engaged & married early in the series, the books are light w/humor. I'm looking for some Dianne Mott Davidson-type mystery series for my mom, and I kind of remembered this bookstore one. Any other similar recommendations welcomed! (other than Janet Evanovich....she already reads that one).  She likes a little romance with her mystery.  Also likes romantic suspense.

Sounds like the Death on Demand series by Carolyn Hart.

That's it!  As soon as I read your reply, I knew it.  I could remember so many details about the series...everything except the titles & author!  Thanks!

If you're interested in bookstore mystery series, marianne MacDonald has one, and Lorna Barrett has written another.

I've read the Lorna Barrett books, I'll have to look for the Marianne MacDonald books.  Thanks!

The Marianne MacDonald ones are harder to find--she's a British author and the series is set in London, with the protagonist (Dido Hoare) being an antiquarian bookseller. It's a pretty good series but it does have its faults...I finally finished reading the last one sometime last year...but she says she's working on another one now, so that'll be cool

Alice Kimberly has a series called The Haunted Bookshop, several of which are available now here on PBS. Also, in Laura Lippman's Tess Monaghan series, her aunt runs a bookstore in Baltimore, called Women and Children First, which makes an appearance in most of the series books.
