In the early nineties I read a true crime book about a young woman who meets a man at a ski resort. They begin to date and he leads her on. She then finds out he's married to a woman who is somehow involved with Gold's Gyms. The wife controls the purse strings. The man tries to have the young woman killed, but the shots hit her in the back and paralyze her. It is predicted that she will never walk again, but she proves that prediction wrong. In the meantime her lover escapes to an off-shore haven (Bermuda? The Bahamas?) Does this sound familiar to anyone? Someone told me they thought they saw the story dramatized on TV. I would appreciate knowing the title and author if anyone out there can supply me with either.

I can't think of any book like that..but I have read so many and they go ~poof right away~.  I didn't think Killer Body's had any ski resort in it but then I could be wrong..

Thanks. I just checked out Killer Bodies and the description is off. The young woman in the book I'm trying to find does not die. If I find out the title, I will recommend it to you because it was an excellent book. Oh, I believe it was written in either the early nineties or late eighties, and took place sometime in the eighties.

Thanks to Robin P. (Sleepy) I found the title. It's Sleeping With the Devil. Thanks to all who replied.

I'm not sure if I have read it or not..my library has a copy so I put it on reserve..always glad to read a book I may have missed.  I need to see the pictures to tell if I have read it.
