Even though I bought the Literati over a month ago, I haven't had time to play around with it until this weekend. I can't remember how I did it, but I switched the screen to night reading (black background with white text), and now I can't switch it back! I clicked on Menu, Settings, which brings me to the Overview page. Under Device Info, it shows Onboard Storage, Software Version (2.0), HW Version (2.6.24.223, Wireless MAC Address, and Adobe ID. Where's the option to change the screen back? I also clicked on Display, but that just shows the 7 brightness levels. Thanks, any help would be appreciated. Go to Display and then go down to Theme and click on Default and turn that on. It should go back to the daytime reading mode. |

Like I said, when I go to Display, the header is Brightness and lists Level 1 to Level 7. I don't see anything called Theme. |

I just figured out how I did it. Click on the book you'r reading, then click Menu, go down to display and click that on. It will bring up the Display and then go down and click on default and that should get you back into the daytime reading mode. Hope this helps with the problem. |

Wish I could try out your suggestion, but the screen is now frozen. Can't flip the pages, go to Home or Menu, or even turn it off. I called the (866) 204-4714 number for help; the lady told me to plug it in, then do a manual reset by inserting a paper clip into that small hole in the back. Didn't work. Then she said to repeat while also holding down the On/Off button. Didn't work. Now I have to wait for the battery to drain before I try these steps again. {GRRRRR} |

Barbara, I also don't like the night mode. Linda, My screen froze on mine back in Feb. I was able to get it turned off, then it wouldn't do anything. The only thing that came up on the screen was Literati and I couldn't get into the menu. I did drain the battery and when I tried it again, it wouldn't work. I had to send the Literati back and they sent me out a new one. If this happens to you, they'll send you a box by Fedex with a label and you just send the Literati back to them. You keep the case, and cables. It took about 3 weeks for the entire process. I did go ahead the day after it died and bought a Cruz reader. I just got the Literati back last week and gave it to my daughter. |

Amber, After draining the battery and plugging in the outlet cord, the Literati came back to life. But if this happens again, I'm going to ask for an exchange. |

Under Device Info, for Software Version it has 2.0 (r23523, Jan 19 2011), so I hope that's the latest version. |
