Hello Chick Lit Readers :)

I would like to give chick lit a try and see how I like it.  I really like books by nora roberts, stephanie meyer, some anne rice books, shana abe...those types of books but have read about these & think they might be good reads for me too.  So...if ya'll could help me out on this and give me good suggestions of what to start out with first I would really appreciate it.  I like books that make me laugh, cry, and tense up from the suspence so point me in the right directions please.  Thank you and I can't wait to get started!

Wow, don't get to post much anymore. But, if you like a little bit of suspense, I would try Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner. She is one of the best chick lit authors ever (reading her books hooked me on the genre) and it is her first mystery-ish book.

Thank you for your suggestion...I will have to try that one out!  How are you liking the Twilight series?  I loved loved loved it and I'm a 29 year old mother of 4 LOL.  Stephenie Meyers writing just really kept my attention and it was really really hard to put her books down.  The Host is an excelant book by her too and it was really hard to put down too.  Hope you enjoy and I will give your suggestion a read!

I actually started reading it under duress, but one of the summer kids at work made me promise I would try the first one. Now I'm hooked! I have finally made it to the last book. I'm finding I don't really like Bella, and I was really kinda pulling for Jacob, which is apparently blasphemy in the Twilight universe! lol  I didn't know she had written anything else, so I may have to look for that now! Thanks for the heads up!

Sophie Kinsella, Marion Keyes, Jennifer Weiner are all standards in chick lit. You can also try out the Red Dress Ink line from Harlequin. all great chick lit

My first chick lit was Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series - I really liked Jemima J by Jane Green, and Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner... if you want, you can read some of my reviews on my blog, I have a little variety on there and you can get the feel for some of them (P.S. I really liked the Twilight series too - you may want to try Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris!)

Wow!  Thank you everyone for all your suggestions.  I can't wait to see how I like chick lit but I'm thinking that I will really like it.  I will read reviews and the lik about the authors posted and will most likely have to buy some credits from someone out there to get a variety of authors.  If anyone has a deal on chick lit please let me know and maybe we can work something out!  Thanks everyone!
