I have a book that weighs 5.6 ounces that I want to send to a member. I want to put my own stamps on and mail it from home. How much will it cost first class and/or media mail? I would have posted this in the postal forum but there isn't much traffic there.

You can always check at the USPS website for the most current prices. http://www.usps.com/prices/welcome.htm

First class at 6 oz is cheaper than media mail: $2.07

PBS also has a current rate chart that makes it easy to compare first class versus media mail:

Thanks so much for the info. Both of those sites really helped me. I will then send it for $2.07 first class.

Thanks for that link to PBS's rate chart.  That will be very helpful in the future.
