Hi to Everyone,

I have a question.  I under stand how to post books using the tab "post books"..but I am not getting many replies to my posted books...I have over 60 books posted and have about 100 more to post...My goal was get the books to eager readers..

Should I go the tab titled "Club wish list" and enter my books title and then post the book...in other words will this way of posting get the message to the right person that the book they have been looking for has been posted..

Hope my question makes sense and that I get a couple of replies.

Thank You

Deb A.

PBS works on a "First In, First Out" (FIFO) system, so when you post a book it goes on the list behind other people who have posted the same book previously.  It will be requested in that prder, unless someone orders directly from your shelf.

If there is a WishList for the book (no copies in the system and people waiting for it), it will be offered to the wishers in the order they signed up.

Everything is automated--you don't need to do anything special.

The problem is, I think, that a lot of your list is books that have been quite popular, and thus there are a lot of copies in the system.  That also means that they will go through the rotation i the FIFO line a bit faster, too.  If you want to partially bypass that system, you can go to the book bazaar and offer a deal to people, like 2 for 1 or something similar.  This will get people to order directly off your shelf,.   The best thing to do is go ahead and enter all of your books and be patient, because the orders will come, at least eventually.  GOOD LUCK!!

You cannot just post a book by title and match up to one that's WL. ISBN, Title, Author and Binding have to match.  If people have a book on their WL that's availalbe to order in other formats then they really want that WL version. It could be because it's hardcover when everything available in paperback, it could be because they want large print or audio or maybe they are collecting a specific cover style.

You can see how many copies of the books you have are in the system by putting them on  your reminder list.

Becoming a boxer is a good way to trade the more heavily posted books with someone else for books you haven't read yet. It's $9 a year (which helps support PBS) and you trade books for books with no credits involved.

If you want to see how many copies of each of your books are already on PBS add each book to the reminder list (under "my lists") Time consuming ,but it gives you an idea .  I remember when I joined thinking the books would get requested quick, and for some people they have and then they worry about the cost of shipping lots of books at one time. No worries someone will want your books.

If your book is a wishlist book, that means there are no other copies in the system.  You do not have to try to match up anyone with your book, all you need to do is just put the book on your shelf.   If it's a WL book, then it will go right away, because that's the nature of being a WL book.  It's already on demand.  People want it, and so far there are no copies available.

But as far as regular FIFO books:  If you posted a book that already has 100 other copies in the system, and you are essentially #101, then the book will have to be requested by 100 other people first before yours gets requested.  Depending on how popular the books are, how many other copies ahead of you determines how long your books will sit on your shelf.
