I'm hoping someone in this forum can help me out. I remember reading a book many years ago that was sort of a cross between romance and historical fiction. It was about a man, with some royal title, who was rather disfigured/ugly but who was attractive to women in spite of his disfigurement. Kind of a beauty and the beast scenario.
I want to say the authors last name begins with 'G' (but couldn't swear to it) and the book was part of a series.
I know it's not much to go on but would appreciate any help with refreshing my memory.
Thanks in advance.
Edited -- because I found the answer! It's almost uncanny how this happens. I'm thinking of a book and someone else must be having the same thoughts. It was the Angelique series someone else posted about. Boy! That was too easy! I really appreciate PBS and the wonderful people on the forums.

I just finished the second book of the series--ANGELIQUE AND THE KING. I had enjoyed the first book (ANGELIQUE) very much and when I started the second I wasn't so sure I would continue reading them. However, after I got into it I loved it too and now I am starting to worry that I won't be able to finish the series because the last three have not been translated into English yet. Guess I better start learning French because I am sure there will be loose ends after nine of the books!! :-)

Actually, I've only read one...not even really sure which one because it was such a long time ago. From what I gathered reading the thread that brought my memory back, the books in the series are difficult to find. I suppose I should add them to my wish list. :-)
And, this forum was a big help in finding the books so, thanks again for being there for me. Thanks again!!
