It's probably something I'm doing wrong, but I haven't been able to figure it out myself, so I'm hoping someone can give me a clue!  :)

All of a sudden, I noticed that the my sig, which had been fine previously, had this symbol -  à (a capital A with an accent above it) - all through out it.  I went into settings and re-typed it, but no matter what I do, they come back. 

Is there something I need to click at the top of the box to get everything back to normal?

While I'm asking, I might as well see if I can change one other thing.  I'd like to be able to hit ENTER and go down to the very next line, rather than have a space skipped - like when I run out of room typing and I'm automatically placed on the next line to continue.

Ok, so I clicked on my post to see how it came out and the Sig is fine again. 

Still, if someone could point out what I did to make it better this time, I'd like to know.  Thanks!

This is weird - Since I wrote this, the Sig went back to doing that strange symbol thing - HELP!

Try deleting your extra spaces.  That has helped most folks.

I originally had the the Reading listing typed as a continuous paragraph similar to my Unpostable list but changing them hasn't made a difference.  Both ways still come out funky. 

Another member has PM'd me that it's a glitch that PBS is addressing since they made the changes to the site recently.  I guess I'll wait it out a bit and see if it clears up by itself.

Does anyone have a solution to my other question about being able to start a new line of type right under the other (like the way our PM works), rather than hitting ENTER and getting skipped a line?

Try hitting shift + enter to get down to the next line without skipping. 
I know it works for posts and also in other places I post. 
I've never tried it on the siggy line, but it's worth a shot :)

Shift+enter works in the signatures, too.

I thought the funky A's were when there was a symbol that wasn't recognized in the formatting, such as punctuation.  Or using the numbers from the 10 key rather that the keyboard. 

Shift +Enter - OK.   I'm going to check it out right now.
Well, it works great here.  I'm off to try it in my sig.

Have only had that happen on profile page when I'm changing my signature section. (I write what I'm currently reading and what i just finished plus some favorite sayings.)  The weird characters show up there only AFTER I'm done typing it in and have clicked "update". BUT it  does NOT show up in the actual signature when I post something in the forums.

ALSO, mine has been doing that for over 6 months so don't think it's related to the new upgrade.

Just a head's up, someone from the PBS Team indicated in another thread that this has been fixed -- just edit your signature one last time and the changes should stick.  Yay!
