This scene popped into my head today and I can't figure out what book it's from

A chick( the main character) ends up helping a woman who was kidnapped I think and they are at a gas station, the woman is either with a head vamp or he takes care of her...the main chick is i think on the phone with the head vamp... after that the head vamp shows up at the main chick's place or he finds he somewhere...like the lobby of an apt building... and he has all his vamps with him and he is just saving thanks or whatever...

I think she didn't have much interaction with vamps, and she was told to stay away from them until she decided to help the woman...and i think it was just a small scene in the scope of things...it didn't have much to do with the main plot.

It's driving me  nuts lol

I remember that scene also...I think the woman who was being helped, was in some kind of cult...where this guy was telling vamps that he could make them human again...and it really didn't work...just some kind of trick..and the woman who was helping was getting help from the Master Vampire, who was meeting her at the gas station.  For some reason...the Kitty books or the Anna Strong books are sticking in my mind.  Not sure though.

Haven't read the Anna Strong books so it's not them. It could be kitty, but I read that book so long ago I can't remember lol I think the girl might have been a shapeshifter, but not a too strong one...which would be Kitty...but I thought the woman was more of a ass kicker...maybe not. This is killing me lol

It is one of the kitty books.  It might be the first one.

from Paula's description, that was Kitty.  the one with the travelling caravan with the guy who convinced various supernaturals that they were 'cured' seems to be Kitty Goes to Washington.  didn't have time to flip through it and see if i could find the gas station scene.

i think it is the first kitty book.  Wasn't it a preacher in a tent revival that was the bad guy.

All I remember of that book is the werewolf hunter trying to kill her and her sniffing his pits, and the fight scene with her and ?TJ and the alpha and his bitch.

I think its Kitty.  Cormac is the werewolf/Bounty Hunter.  TJ was Kitty's best friend in the Pack.   The Alpha's bitch didn't like Kitty.    Must be Kitty #1.

This post from me... "All I remember of that book is the werewolf hunter trying to kill her and her sniffing his pits, and the fight scene with her and ?TJ and the alpha and his bitch." is what I remember from Kitty, not what I remember from the scene I was thinking of.

The Kitty series is by Carrie Vaughn.  I liked them enough to put them on my keeper shelf!

thanks Scarlett! I'm new to this genre..only read a few silhouette nocturnes and Victoria Laurie's 2 mystery series...I didn't think I'd like paranormal but I think the lighter stuff and some with romance/humor suit me!
