This is the first time I feel I need to rwap. The book was mailed 10 days late, no communication and the book isn't postable. The book has been glued and the glue is not working so some pages in the beginning are coming out. This was a wl book. Will I go back to where I was (1) on the wl?

yes, as long as you record RWAP.

Thank you! I was nervous I would lose my place!

One more thing, does PBS automatically add the book to my wl or do I add it again? I'm guessing if pbs adds the book back to my wl, it will take a few days to show up right?

No. If you press the RWAP button, it goes back onto your WL immediately, and you should regain your position.

Thank you. The book went to my reminder list where there was 1 copy in the system so I quickly ordered it.

It stings though, it looks like I won't receive my credit back even though I have a link to the pictures showing the issue.Oh well, on the bright side,I re-ordered the book :-) and who knows, maybe in the end she'll give me my credit back.I just wish folks would communicate! If a book is glued or pages coming out at the top pm. If you mail 10 days late, don't ignore that, just pm. A quick thing of, "hey mailed your book today, sorry about the delay." is all that's needed. Same with condition, just pm and say "hey, the book has been glued or has a long brown stain between the cover and first page, up the spine and some pages are coming out at the top." That gives someone a chance to say no.

Honestly, I wish people wouldn't post unpostable books at all. The system really isn't set up for the back and forth.

Has the person responded to your message? Giving them a specific timeline is a good idea - but they are required by PBS to respond even if they don't intend to return your credit.

I didn't give a specific timeline, I did supply a link to my one drive where I set up a folder showing the pictures. I kept the wrappings too. If I don't hear in a few days, I'll ask for a response. Thanks for the advice!

Not to be overly simple, but have you explicitly asked for your credit to be refunded?  Sometimes folks aren't familiar with what happens in problem swaps, and don't know that a refund is an option, or how to give one.

Good luck!

Yes, and I said I would return the book if she wanted but to please send a credit for postage. She asked for pictures, I took some, reiterated about returning the credit and now she hasn't responded. I think she'll just ignore me and I'll lose the credit. Thankfully, I have had so many good swaps that while this stings a bit, I know I'll have lots more good swaps coming to me.

A late mailing may be negotiable (before mailing), but book condition is NOT negotiable.

As already mentioned, a quick note is appreciated if something unexpected arises.  After a specific number of days, the sender is supposed to PM if you still want the book (this rarely happens, but is in the official PBS rules).

All books posted FIFO MUST be postable per PBS guidelines.  Unpostables may be offered in the Book Bazaar but are not allowed FIFO.

Yep, I had a problem with a book, sent the sender two messages over a month or six week. No reply. I then sent a message to the PBS team stating this. The PBS team refunded my credit and told the sender they are required to answer my posts about a problem.

The sender did reply and she did return my credit. She thinks the post office squashed it somehow and that's why pages were coming apart.

To be completely fair, that's not totally outside the realm of possibility. I've had books that were fine and then opened them up at a later time and have had them fall to pieces. So, it's at least marginally possible.
