it would help if you tell us what you would consider a "good romance novel". Another one's "good" can be someone's "bad".

Like for instance, everyone I know loves Judith McNaught's PARADISE. Except I thought it was boring and mediocre.

You've come to the right place.  If you like historicals, my number 1 recommendation is Outlander (Diana Gabaldon), then Flowers from the Storm, then The Last Arrow (Marsha Canham).  For tons more recommendations, check out this link to the All About Romance reader survey regarding top 100 romances of all time:

The Last Arrow isn't on there but should be.  They never reviewed it.  What a shame!

What genre do you like?  Contemporary or Historical?  Give us an idea and I guarantee you we can point you in the right direction!
