How can I put my shelf on hold where no one can order from me.  (Husband in motorcycle accident, no time). Also, how can I delete books from my shelf. Thank you.

Click on the tab titled My Bookshelf. At the top next to the number of books you have there is text that says "Click for Vacation Hold". You can choose dates as needed.

Same screen also lists all your books, posted as well as on hold. Click the small box(es) on the far right next to the books you want to delete, then click Delete button at the top or bottom right of the page.

Go to the home page (paperbackswap.com). Go to My Account (top of the page - third button over from the left). Scroll down to Vacation Hold. Type in the date you want to hold your account to.  

There's no need to delete books from your shelf, if it would be an added worry to you. I just put my shelf on vacation hold to 1/28/18 just to test it. I'm sure that you could advance that. You can unhold your account when you're ready to do so without the need of deleting titles.
