I've only seen Miss Marple in the movie version, but really enjoyed her.

Miss Marple~!  She possessed a humility that Poirot did not.  Also, her down-home solutions to the mysteries were always charming and clever at the same time.  Poirot was more of a hot dog, Columbo sleuth whereas Marple was more Murder-She-Wrote.

I have to admit that I have never read any Miss Marple (I've seen many PBS Mystery episodes though!) but I LOVE Hercule Poirot.
