The dialog is a bit too much on the cheesey side, and the plot could have been fleshed out a bit more, but not bad. I liked the premise, and I wasn't disappointed much with it. Played out more like a BOOM-POW kind of comic book than a novel, but there are other Star Trek books that provide intellectual stimulation, so sometimes it's nice to have a bit of fluff.
The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise receive news of a human planet hidden in the center of an immense stellar cloud, they immediately investigate. They soon become embroiled in a web of intrigue and murder.
